Discovery Piscine is a five-day course on the basics of programming - a taste of 42 Prague’s teaching methods and philosophy. It’s not a traditional lecture-based course. You’ll learn at your own pace by solving practical tasks and working on projects right here on our campus. By the end of the course, you’ll have basic experience with Python and a clearer idea of whether programming is right for you. All successful participants will also receive a certificate. 📃

5 days of intensive Python training
- Learn core Python & shell basics: Covers variables, control flow, data structures, and introductory object-oriented programming.
- Develop practical scripting skills: Gain the foundational toolkit to confidently read, write, and understand simple Python scripts.
Hands-on programming experience at the 42 Prague campus in Kolbenov.
A unique teaching model—no teachers, no lectures, and no textbooks. All within a community.
Suitable for complete beginners in programming.
Peer evaluation and collaboration with other participants (peer-to-peer).

On the first day, we’ll start with a group introductory presentation where we’ll walk you through how everything works and help you get started. After that, it’s up to you. You’ll work at your own pace, tackle assignments, and collaborate with others to discuss and evaluate your results. The community and our team will be there to support you throughout the program. The week also includes an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with students and the 42 Prague team. We’ve also prepared a program for you during the week to give your eyes, back, and brain a rest. 🥳 We’ll wrap up the last day with a group feedback session, and you’ll leave our campus by 4:00 PM.
The course is free and open to anyone 18 years of age or older. All you have to do is sign up. We’ll send you a confirmation email, and on the Friday before the course, we’ll also send you an email with a summary and details.
